Increasing Inequality and the Changing Spatial Distribution of Income in Tel-Aviv

Abstract Despite its egalitarian past, in recent decades Israel followed the footsteps of United States terms growing inequality levels and reduced welfare arrangements. It is assumed, therefore, to have similar trends increasing residential segregation between income groups. This study focuses on metropolitan area Tel-Aviv, Israel’s financial cultural centre examines change spatial distribution groups years 1995–2008. identifies top bottom earners, as well those other groups, given corresponding inequality. In addition, it patterns affluence poverty concentration assesses influence concentrated disadvantage among specific religious overall trends.
